We had an amazing turn out for our event on May 19th!
The winning charity was: Stand Up For Kids Chicago! Stand Up For Kids Chicago is a non-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to provide crisis intervention and basic survival necessities for at-risk and homeless youth ages 13-25 through national and local outreach. In line with the national organization, Chicago’s chapter facilitates a welcoming environment and provides opportunities for Chicago’s homeless youth to become empowered young adults. Our guest speaker was Paula Froehle. Paula Froehle is a film director, visual artist, educator and entrepreneur with over 30 years experience in film and education. As Co-founder and Executive Director of Chicago Media Project she, along with Steve Cohen, has developed a unique and dynamic community-driven philanthropic organization. The goal of CMP is to develop community around a shared belief in the power of documentary film to bring about social change. Collectively CMP members are exposed to a wide range of documentary films and filmmakers in order to develop a deep knowledge of the field, leading to support and encouragement of great documentary filmmaking. In addition, CMP Invest/Impact, a separate equity fund, enables select CMP members to invest in media of all kinds with a social impact focus.
